Stroll With Me Volunteer Needs 

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer during our event! We are looking for around 30 to 40 volunteers for the following needs on April 29th, the day of the event.

1. Table Volunteer - We need people to man the tables during the event. As people begin to arrive at the park after walking the prescribed route, those who have registered will need to check in. People will line up and your job will be to find their name on the list and hand them a food ticket for every member of their party. You will also provide every group a paper handout that will explain 5 ways to get involved with the IDD community. 

   After most everyone has checked in, we will pull out the silent auction items. Your job will then be to answer any questions people have about the silent auction items and to oversee the fiscal donations. We will only need 2 volunteers once most everyone has checked in: one to oversee the donations and auction items, and another to be available for late check ins.

2. Refreshment Volunteer - Along the path we plan to have 2 stations where people can grab drinks. After everyone has passed your station along the route, we will have you relocate to the park and continue to give out drinks.

3. Route Volunteer - The route will start at Earl D. Franklin Jr. Park and end at the Courthouse. We need people stationed at the beginning and along every turn along the route to guide people along. Those stationed at the beginning will allow people to leave in short intervals. We will do this so that we don’t have too much crowding along the route.

4. Food Volunteer - We need people to pick up food for the event 30 minutes to an hour prior to when it starts. We will also need people to hand out food in exchange for the ticket they receive at the check-in table.

5. Set up and Tear Down Volunteer - There will be tables, chairs, extension cords, and a large canopy that needs to be set up and torn down before and after the event. If you can only help set-up or tear-down, that’s fine too. Set up will start at 9:00am and tear down will happen when most everyone has left.
