Residential Assistant Manager

 JOB DESCRIPTION

Function or purpose of the position

Provide support and assistance to the individuals receiving services, to allow them to lead independent lives both at home and in the community.  

 

Essential tasks and functions specific to the position

  • Attend to the needs of individuals receiving services while supporting them to become more independent.  

  • Be familiar with and adhere to agency Policies & Procedures, State and Federal Mandates. Ensure compliance by direct care providers (DCP’S) 

  • Be familiar with and implement all aspects of the person centered plan.  

  • Possess knowledge of emergency procedures and be responsible for each person’s safety and welfare.  

  • Assist in supporting the needs of the individual receiving services including, medication administration, medical supports, first aid and transportation. Coordinate medical and dental appointments for all person’s receiving services. Ensure proper documentation, report all medical/dental activity to Residential Manager and nursing department. 

  • Provide opportunities for meaningful community involvement.  

  • Assist in general care, upkeep and maintenance of facility and grounds while keeping supervisor informed of any maintenance needs. Keep supervisor informed of any maintenance needs.  

  • Arrange for repair and maintenance of building and equipment according to fiscal rules.  

  • Maintain staff work schedule with adequate staff coverage 365 days per year including holidays. Approve all substitute staff and any changes in the staff schedule prior to change.  

  • Assist Residential Manager in supervision of all staff in the duties of their position including adhering to agency policies and procedures and state and federal mandates. 

 

Additional duties of importance required of the position

  • Coordinate, facilitate and complete required paperwork, (i.e.: ISSP/BISSP’s, assessments, incident reports, activity log, etc….) in a timely manner.  

  • Implement all provided training techniques as applicable.  

  • Communicate with supervisor any unusual or significant concerns and work cooperatively with co-workers on any assignments.  

    Attend in-service, staff meetings and other trainings as required by the Agency.  

  • Attend and participate in workshops, conferences and other in-services as required.  

  • Complete training requirements as specified by agency. Implement all provided training technique’s as applicable.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

 

Other knowledge, skills, and abilities that are necessary when performing the position.

  • Must pass background and motor vehicle checks. 

  • Basic computer knowledge is desired.  

  • Needs to possess the ability to communicate effectively in order to work productively in a team oriented environment. 

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent. 

  • Must possess valid driver’s license. 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 

  • One year experience working with D.D. preferred.  

 

Physical demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; hear and have the ability to communicate on a verbal basis.  The employee must have adequate visual acuity with or without correction and is required to lift heavy weights up to 50 lbs. and help with transporting and assisting individuals in services, to include lifting them when they need help.  The employee is required to travel to meetings, training, Agency facilities and other job-related locations.
